google公司選用“google”一詞用來代表在互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上可以獲得的海量的資源。

“goole”一詞源于單詞“googol” ，即10的100次冪，寫出的形式為數(shù)字1后跟100個零。該詞現(xiàn)在也可以用作動詞，例如“google某物”的意思是在google搜索引擎上搜索“某物”這個關(guān)鍵詞！

The Google name was chosen to represent the gigantic amount of material available on the Web. It comes from "googol;" the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. The name is also used as a verb; for example, "to Google something" means to search the Web for it.

名詞動詞化并不是中文的傳統(tǒng)，但由于互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的高速發(fā)展，各種文化相互影響，近年來這種現(xiàn)象也開始得到廣大網(wǎng)民的接受，例如“Do you yahoo today?" －今天你雅虎了嗎？還有中國的百度公司也在大力推廣他們的口號“有問題，百度一下”，有誰不愿意自己的公司名成為老百姓的日常詞匯呢？
